At first the ultrasound was a little scary because I did see anything on the screen, then the dr said, “There it is” and I still didn’t really see it, but he moved the wand thing and the image cleared up. Boy was baby moving all over! Then the dr asked baby to stop moving around so we could get a measurement and he/she did. The dr wanted a profile to measure, but baby was facing us, so he did the best he could. I think the measurements are pretty accurate though. He said it’s easier to get a good measurement when you are looking at the side of the baby, but after all that initial wiggling, baby wouldn’t wiggle into another position. He/she kept on facing forward. Anyway, here are the pics. 2 measure at 10w4d as you can see and the last 10w6d. According to my O date, I should be 10w4d so my dr adjusted my due date vs just using my LMP.
I was so nervous before the appointment. I’m so glad everything went fine! Oh yes, and something else I learned this week, my baby is no longer an “embryo” but is now considered a “fetus.” I don’t know why it’s a big deal, but I’m happy about it.
