When Are We Going to Tell?

So there are a few people in our family that know about this pregnancy, but we haven’t really “announced” it yet. I got a call from my MIL today (one of the people who know) and she asked when we are going to tell everyone because my SIL was asking because she overheard a comment I made that got her thinking and last night after dinner she saw me holding my stomach. I actually remember that very moment and did notice that she was looking at me.

Normally I can keep a pregnancy under wraps for a while, but this time, my tummy is bigger than it’s been before. At least that’s the way it seems and I just am NOT going to be able to keep people from figuring it out much longer.

BUT - I did tell MIL that I have an appt and an ultrasound on Friday and that if that goes well, then we will let people know. I’m hoping to have a picture to share after that appt and that’s how we’ll share the news. Wish me luck on Friday. My appt is in just over 48 hours from now.

Sorry to intrude, but came here from the mothering.com boards in regards to your SIL’s situation.

My step daughter is going through the same thing. She was told in October that her son was missing 2/3 of his brain tissue, a one in a million chance of it happening. . . and that he might live 2 weeks.

Victor was born Tuesday night at 9pm and she is taking him home today for his short time with the family. In all honesty, I don’t know why I am telling you this, aside from the whole sympathy aspect and to let you (and your SIL) know that you aren’t alone.

I won’t go into detail here, as some of the situation is pretty horrific. . . but if you ever need to talk, drop me a line.
