Yesterday I had a bit of a scare. I was really busy one and pre-occupied and at the end of the day I realized that I hadn’t noticed the kind of movement I normally do. This baby is quite active and I usually have two session of “rumbling, tumbling” movement each day. But last night as I thought about it, I didn’t remember feeling anything like that. So I laid down to do kick counts, but I think baby was sleeping. Usually when I lay down to do kick counts, I can count 10 movements in under 30 minutes no matter how “quiet” baby seemed to be before that. Seeing as how it was already kind of late at night and my dr’s office wasn’t open, I decided to break out my doppler. I hadn’t used it in a while, but I was so glad that I still had it. I was able to make sure baby’s heart was still beating away as it should and I was able to feel some movement. So I decided to go back to sleep and keep an eye on movement in the morning.
Thankfully today, I’ve been feeling decent movement on a regular basis. Still not quite the major kicking fiasco that I’m used to, but maybe it’ll happen tonight as just before bed seems to be one of baby’s most active times. If i still don’t feel that type of movement tonight or tomorrow by lunch time, I’ll be making a call to my dr’s office to see what they think. I may very well be breaking out the doppler again tonight just for my own peace of mind.
