I know there are people who believe that getting baby things before baby is born is bad luck. I’m not one of them. Speaking of bad luck, it’s Friday the 13th. I actually like Friday the 13th, for some reason, I always seem to have a pretty good day.
Anyway - as far as preparing for baby, I’ve already started thinking of names. If you’ve read the other posts, you know we’ve already bought a different vehicle. I also rather not stress about getting stuff for baby after baby arrives, and I know how many things there are to get. So, I’m going to use the same plan that I used when I was pregnant with my son. Every time I go to Wal-Mart or K-Mart, I am going to buy one baby thing, or one thing that I will need after baby is born. So far I’ve gone three times. I bought baby soap, a 5-pack of neutral onesies, and nursing pads.
My guess is that I’ll go to Walmart or K-mart 2-3 times per month which means that I have about 15-24 trips in which to buy things for baby. So I should be able to get the necessities: pampers, wipes, booties/mittens, baby detergent, blankets, burp clothes, vaseline, diaper rash medicine, a set of crib sheets, etc, etc, etc.
Of course, eventually, we’ll have to get a car seat and stroller too. But I think we’ll wait a while on those. Thankfully we already have a play pen, a bouncer, a crib, a sling, baby nail clippers, and a few other baby things. Of course, if it does so happen that we have twins, which I’m not really expecting, then maybe I should start buying two of everything.
