Got our car!

So today is October 7th. I have to remember to call my SIL for her birthday. I did send her an e-mail, but I think she’s working so I don’t know if she got it.

Anyway, on Thursday, Oct 5th, DH saw a deal in the paper for a Trailblazer EXT which is what we’ve been looking for. We’re really in no rush though, so the only reason we went to check this one out was the price. Basically our credit union (and us) are only comfortable with financing $23K. I never thought we’d find a Trailblazer for that much because they are all $25K and up + tax and all that good stuff. Plus right now we really don’t have a big down to make up the difference…and we need to get my car taken care of.

Originally I figured we’d sell my car then look for something. But anyway, DH saw the deal in the paper and we called about it. They said they should still have the car, but they couldn’t find it, but they had another ‘06 Trailblazer that they could sell us for the same price and it only had 10K mi on it. I had actually called about that one the day before and it was priced at upper $20K - so we decided to go and check it out after DH came home from work.

We end up being able to get it! $23K financed and my car taken care of. We were also able to get the extended warranty. I didn’t think we would because the car isn’t brand new, but they offered it to us so we have 6 yrs or 72,000 mi warranty and this will only cost us about $230 more per month than what we were paying on my car. Soooo, I think we can handle that. We can earn an extra $200 - plus we’re going to put the Camaro in “storage” so we don’t have to pay reg and ins on that since it’s not running right now. So actually our insurance cost has dropped with the changes we’ve made. Now I don’t have to worry about the car situation - About selling my car and not having one until we find something else. I had been thinking that we might have to go with a van for a little while until we can afford something else. But this is perfect. Now we have enough seats!

I also registered with HMSA’s He Hapai Pono - I’m not sure what the point of that is, but I get a free book.

I’m due to go back to the dr on Tues. I know we probably won’t see anything, but I’m still hoping we will. Patience is not something easy to come by when expecting - you can’t wait until your next dr appt to see how much weight you’ve gained and to see whether or not your tummy is growing as it should. You can’t wait to get an ultrasound and when you have a date set it seems to take forever to come. Then of course, you can’t wait to see the baby which seems to take so, so, so long.

Anyway - this post is getting kind of long, so that’s it for now. Be back later. ;) 5 weeks down, only 242 days to go.
