Sometimes women complain that the romance is gone in their relationship….especially after they’ve been in it for a while. But one thing I’ve learned is that there are often “sweet” acts of affection in the little things that my husband does for me. For example, he doesn’t particularly like chocolate and often discourages me from eating it, but one day he came home with two packs of M&Ms just for me! I thought it was sweet of him to think of me when he had the chance to buy them during the day at work.
Another thing was that I bought him a new pillow for Father’s Day because he’s always talking about how we need to get new pillows. Well, this new pillow is one of our best by far. One day, when he woke up in the morning to go to work, he kissed me good-bye and also told me to use his pillow because he knows how much more comfortable it is. Recently, he’s been letting me use his pillow to sleep with from the beginning of the night. I told him that I bought it for him and he just said that it’s okay, I can use it for now, but in a few months (after I give birth) he wants it back. LOL - I think he just knows that sleeping can get uncomfortable for me during pregnancy and he just wants to try to help make me as comfortable as possible. Isn’t that sweet? It may not be roses and jewelry, but I think it’s these little daily acts that mean more than the occasional gift.
