20 Days to Go

Wow!  I just took a look at my pregnancy counter box and it says “20 days to go until our new baby.”  Of course, that’s based on the November 5th due date.  So if baby comes on the 7th which I am expecting, I still have about 22 days left.

Yesterday was pretty calm as far as Braxton Hicks contractions, so of course, this morning, I wake up and there they are.  I’ve been sitting at my computer, cruising on message boards and using the online contraction counter/master just for fun.  I really don’t think these will turn into anything, but I just thought I’d see what all the fuss was about with the contraction master thing.  It’s pretty cool, but during labor…someone else would have to be pressing the button for start and stop for me.  I would NOT be sitting at my computer to do it.

    I yelled to my husband…

Contraction, hit that button…and he would hit it for me. Of course, it was annoyingly during the day. I actually began timing labor contractions when he was at work and my children were asleep. I wouldn’t make them time them anyway. It was interesting how when he came home after I called, the contractions spaced out. I thought it was false labor at first, but they eventually picked back up. It would be fun to have saved the thing. Sometimes, I would have what I thought might be a contraction, but it was so mild…I would hit the start button and then stop right away. I think I had “couplings” of contractions that were two shorter ones side by side, it was so interesting.
